Explorations in Clay - Middle and High School
This course is designed for students in Middle and High School who have an interest in working with clay. Students will explore and apply a variety of techniques and processes which will include hand-building, throwing and surface treatment. Students will become effective at creating functional as well as sculptural pieces of three dimensional clay art work. The focus will be on understanding and applying the elements of art. An introduction to traditional and historical ceramic arts will be incorporated into the clay experiences.
Registration fee of $90 includes instruction and operational costs. Students will need to have their own tool kits. Total in class is 10 and minimum is 3. Class instructor is Sonia Neale, who has her degree from Winthrop and has multiple years in working with students and applying unique art projects.
